  • Was just on with godaddy, they are working the issue. Its being treated as a global issue and they promise an answer ASAP.

They are saying to call back every hour and talk to hosting. Now, what about our data? What do you tell clients?

First they said go read this:https://ninjaforms.com/important-security-update-always-hurt-ones-love/

Thats old news, more about what Godaddy is doing and getting transparency. The issue has been fixed and there seems to be a new download.

Second, they said roll back your site before it was black listed… no dice. The plugin screen says it can not be used. On my third call back they admitted that was not such a good idea.

Third, we did not install this plugin, they consider it a partnership plugin. So could they have not had a solid plan for the last 10 days.

Love GoDaddy, but this one is not going over too well. I have decided to tell my clients that the forms are down until issue is resolved.

    I hope godaddy can:

    1. Work with Ninja forms through their partnership program to test and approve it
    2. Quickly offer a path forward that gets us back up and with no lose of data.
    3. And keeps us PROACTIVELY updated on the status.

I just added this to ninja forms site: I hope they are up and talking to these guys.

Can you guys please work with your partners to fix this at godaddy.

We love your product, we don’t want to look for another alternative and I want my data back ??

Where is the new safe plugin? Why did it take your partners 10 days to shut down old plugin, with no notice and not real path to fix something they installed?

When I called, the GoDaddy tech knew nothing, and suggested going to Way Back Machine to get copies of forms!

I just got off the phone with GoDaddy and they told me, too bad, if you need Ninja forms change to a Cpanel hosting plan and reinstall WordPress and my site. I think I am going to rehost off of Godaddy but that doesn’t help me with this. Ninja forms support needs to work with GoDaddy to get this resolved fast.

Just spoke with Godaddy and reamed them for pulling this with no notice. I have multiple websites running this form and have gotten angry calls from clients already first thing Sunday morning.

GD support told me they are rolling the removal back and the plugin will be restored within a couple hours.

Meanwhile, if you host with GD, suggest you let them know how unacceptable it is to make a move like this with NO advanced notice. Unbelievable! Things like this make me look for other hosting providers.

As of 1pm, GD has restored and all forms are working! Thanks GD!

Now please tell us what happen ??

Mine aren’t restored yet as of 12:30 CST, might take a while.

    Hi Group,

Not sure if anyone else wants to go this route or not, but I went and purchased Gravity Forms. There is a plug in that imports all Ninja form plug ins. It was an expensive option for me, but I could afford the downtime. Of course I did this and then I saw the notice that iaim2xl posted. Anyway, I think I will leave both installed and if Godaddy pulls this crud again, I have a backup plan.

Some of mine have now been restored, but not all. Looks like they are working on it.

Any news? On my websites the Ninja form plugin is still working.. I wish not to change it..

My forms are restored now as of this morning. No email from GoDaddy, though.

@remery, do you have update the plugin or do something?

I didn’t have to do anything. The plugin just reappeared and now is working. They probably just did a restore on it.

Has anyone found out what (if anything) GoDaddy observed, that could be a performance or security issue?

If there was anything, is it fixed or being tested?

I like when hosts are actively looking for security issues. Most hosts are Negligent, hosts should not “leave security to their customers”, security is too complex and too important. If your host’s attitude to security is “we don’t support third-party software”, Leave Them.

Having a plugin disabled is inconvenient. But not nearly as inconvenient, not nearly as hard to fix, as when your site gets hacked because that plugin wasn’t disabled.

(Note: GoDaddy Managed WordPress Hosting will do this checking, I haven’t heard yet that the security and plugin vulnerability checking for Managed WordPress hosting has been migrated to apply to their “ancient cranky” hosting.)

    Hello,

I have installed Gravity Forms Advanced File Uploader plugin and gavity form list management but when we want to download .xls file from gravity form list it did not working on godady server but it is working on local server. Can you please help me how we resolve this.

    Thanks
