Godaddy and Astra issue

    I recently purchased GoDaddy hosting and installed the Astra theme along with the Astra starter template. When I click on ‘Customize’ or go to ‘Starter Templates,’ I see a ‘Page Not Found’ error.

    I contacted GoDaddy and have been conversing with them for the past 2 hours, explaining that this issue has never happened before with HostGator or Bluehost. I was connected with the advanced team, and even after 2 hours, they said everything is fine with the hosting and that it’s an issue with Astra. I also installed other themes, and they’re working fine—it’s just Astra that’s not. They have tried everything, including working with .htaccess and trying different PHP versions, but those pages still show 404 errors.

    Again, as I said, I literally spent 2 hours chatting with them, and now I’m here. Please help!

    Also, there is nothing to attach as a screenshot, it’s that common 404 error.

  • I encountered the same problem today. I built a site for a client locally using Astra and Starter Templates. After transferring the site to GoDaddy, I get a 404 error when trying to edit the page with Elementor or customize the theme.

    To me, it sounds like specific server-related issue as it didn’t happen with HostGator and Bluehost.

    Well, please check this doc and see if it helps, especially step #4.

    After 4 days of back and forth with Godaddy, I finally went with Bluehost and cancelled Godaddy hosting.

    Just want to add. Yes! this problem is real. I encountered the exact same issue with WP, Astra and GoDaddy. If you’re planning to use this you HAVE to get a different host company! Thank you OP for posting, I thought I was going insane.

    Please get in touch with your hosting provider and work with them to fix it, as this is server-specific issue.

    However, if you hear from them that there’s something that needs to be improved from the plugin, please just let us know by starting a new thread, and we will be more than happy to check.

    The issue can be resolved in Godaddy

    Just goto the file manager > .htaccess file edit it and add the following two lines of code
