I suspect that I am asking a dumb/stupid question, but I have not been able to find the answer in your well written documentation (I am implying a problem on my end, not with the MLA documentation). However, upon a successful working solution, I will donate $40 USD to your project (using the “Donate” button that is provided on the “Media Library Assistant Settings” page) for your time, effort, and help.

On the linked page, I am using the shortcode [mla_gallery attachment_category='fractal-wallpapers' columns=4 link='full' orderby='title']. What parameter/attribute needs to be added so that when a user/viewer clicks on an image in the gallery (of that page produced with the above shortcode) they are taken to the full-sized/original image as opposed to a “scaled” image?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Thanks for the positive MLA feedback and for your generous offer of a donation for a solution for your application. It’s not a dumb question, it’s a missing MLA feature. The current MLA version does not allow access to the unscaled image files.

I have uploaded a new MLA Development Version dated 20240308 that includes the enhancement. You can find step-by-step instructions for using the Development Version in this earlier topic:

How to download & install the current development version of MLA

Once the Development Version is installed you can replace link='full‘ with link=original to access the original image for large items (those are some beautiful, massive images on your site!).

The enhancement will be part of my next MLA version, but in the interim it would be great if you could install the Development Version and let me know how it works for you. Thanks for inspiring this MLA enhancement.

@dglingren , Thanks! The development version and changing the value of link worked.

I will now donate (using the button already provided in the plugin) as this solution works perfectly.

Thanks for confirming the new feature. I’ve discovered that the donate link in the current MLA version goes to a page that no longer exists. I will fix that in my next update but in the interim this is the correct link:

Thanks again for your generous offer!
