• Hi

I am using the WordPress Adelle Theme with the GNU Lisence:

    https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/adelle/

I just want to check the following:

    The footer currently states:
Blog at WordPress.com. | The Adelle Theme by BluChic.

I want to change it to the following:
    <copyright symbol> my website name
    <designed by> my website name

    Please confirm:

    1. I can change the copyright in the footer to read “<copy right symbol> my website name” and this essentially means that the content is written by me and is owned by me.

    2. I can remove/edit the Adelle Theme to “<Designed by> my website name” meaning I am using a theme which was designed under the GNU General Public License.

    Please advise soonest.

Not 30 minutes and you’re bumping? Don’t do that, those get deleted.

*Reads poorly labeled “GNU” topic, wishes for coffee, finds none*

Yes to all of the above. The GPL lets you modify the code anyway you like. As long as you do not attempt to pass that code off as 100% your creation (but modifications are encouraged) then you should be fine.

As it sounds like you are modifying it for your site then modify away. ??

Just keep in mind that changing a theme directly can cause you problems later on. If you create and activate a child theme of Adelle then your changes will be safe.

Edit: Please do not create multiple topics for the same thing. I’ve deleted those duplicate topics.

    Thank you so much.

Yes, I created multiple ones as I was unsure if I posted this in the correct forum.

    I’ll not do this again.

    Thank you for your assistance.
