Hey there, I currently updated my wordpress to the 4.7.3 version and since then I haven’t been able to access any part of the dashboard of the site. Only being presented with a white page and the following: Fatal error: Cannot redeclare register_setting() (previously declared in D:\home\site\wwwroot\wp-includes\option.php:1871) in D:\home\site\wwwroot\wp-admin\includes\plugin.php on line 1811.

Trying to fix the issue using a FTP client, winSCP specifically, I noticed that renaming the grand media file folder caused the previous warning to vanish and just be presented with a white screen only. Given that it is the only plugin causing any effect on the page, I have concluded that my problem lies directly or indirectly with this plugin. But I still have no idea how to fix it.

If anyone has any insight or can offer any help, it would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance for any help you may provide.

Gmedia plugin doesn’t use register_setting() function and instead have own Settings page that is outside of WordPress Settings section.

Perhaps, there was Debug mode enabled in Gmedia Settings and that’s why you seen Fatal error, but when you renamed folder plugin was deactivated and you just see white screen (which is also Fatal error but it is not displayed and you can read errors only in error_log file on your server).

Try rename other plugins one by one and also don’t forget about your active theme.
