Gmail IMAP suddenly stopped working (WP 5.4.2 + Postie v.1.9.53

    Hi, I’ve been using this plugin for a long time with great success, but now it suddenly stopped working.

    I’m getting the following error when testing:

    Postie server: imap.gmail.com

    Postie port: 993

    Unable to connect. The server said: IMAP – Could not connect to IMAP server imap.gmail.com on port 993. Array
    (
    [0] => A0002 BAD Failed to parse your command s3mb40763836wme
    )

    Can you please help?

    Is this still happening? If so it likely has something to do with your gmail account or hosting company.

    You can also try switching to POP.

    There hasn’t been a Postie update that affects how it talks to the email server in a long time.

    Hey, yep, same problem still, also tried POP. I contacted my hosting company if they changed something. Thanks.
