I am using the plugin with Gmail API. Just wondering if it is normal for all emails generated by the site to come from my gmail address (i.e. [email protected]) and not the actual website domain email address (e.g. [email protected]).

After configuring the gmail api, the force from email settings are greyed out and I cannot change. I am thinking that this is normal behaviour when using the gmail api.

If I want to use my own domain name, am I better if using a service like sendinblue, mailgun and sendgrid instead?

  • Hi @rarcher30,

Yes, Gmail API does not allow custom From Email. It will be sending the emails from the account you’ve authenticated, that is why that option is disabled and greyed out. For your domain-specific email addresses, services like sendinblue, mailgun and sendgrid are recommended as these mailers require you to verify your domain instead of specific mailbox account.

    I hope this helps!

Hi @rarcher30 – We haven’t heard from you in about a week, so I’m going to go ahead and mark this ticket resolved. If you still have questions, though, please feel welcome to continue the conversation.
