    Hi,

    i am testing Gmail connectivity

    Connect to Mail Host
    Postie connection: sockets
    Postie protocol: imap
    Postie server: imap.gmail.com
    Postie port: 993
    Unable to connect. The server said: IMAP – Could not connect to IMAP server imap.gmail.com on port 993. Array
    (
    [0] =>
    )

    imap is activated
    access by unsecure apps is allowed.

    does gmx work better?
    or outlook mail?

    Typically this is due to your hosting provider blocking outbound connections on the email ports.

    You would need to confirm with your host that this is the issue and possibly update the configuration to allow it.

    Hi, the provider checked it – there is no port blocking.

    now tried it with outlook mail pop 3:
    Invalid sender: [email protected]! Not adding email!
    A copy of the message has been forwarded to the administrator.
    Ignoring email – not authorized.
    Invalid sender: [email protected]! Not adding email!

    with imap:
    getemails: IMAP – Could not connect to IMAP server Outlook.office365.com on port 993. Array
    (
    )

    Seems to me that the plugin does not work properly.

    Ok tried with GMX
    then i got the hint that %$ is not good for passwords. Then changed the password

    No i get the following:
    Connect to Mail Host
    Postie connection: sockets
    Postie protocol: imap-ssl
    Postie server: imap.gmx.net
    Postie port: 993
    Unable to connect. The server said: IMAP – Could not connect to IMAP server imap.gmx.net on port 993. Array
    (

    When you were getting the Invalid sender: [email protected]! message it was working. You just didn’t have Postie configured to allow that email address to post. See https://postieplugin.com/getting-started/

    authentication failed means that Postie contacted the mail server and the mail server says you have the wrong user/password.
