global attributes archive problem

hello everyone.
during working on global attributes for products, as soon as I click checkbox “archive”, all products previously added to the site become available even with manually added attributes. so I have to uncheck the archive box to bring back the products in normal condition.

am I doing something wrong? pleas help.
