I downloaded and installed on local host. Love the theme and spent long time trying to get it as I wanted to look.

Now I can not remove the header and footer color I chose and go back to just background picture.

It will allow to select other header or footer colors but when I try roll back to the background image and remove header and footer color it wont work.
Tried activating another theme and then reactivating but still issues.

Is this theme going to be updated to 4.1 as I see another thread that it is broken in 4.1??

I’ve reproduced this. Will try to figure out a fix today. Is not related to 4.1.

Unfortunately this is a limitation of the wordpress color picker. It just doesn’t allow you to reset the value to transparent as it seems you would like to do. I could specify a default value for the background color, but cannot select transparent which really should be the ideal default setting.

If you are comfortable making database modifications, you could fire up phpmyadmin and look at the wp_options table entry theme_mods_[theme-name] and remove the background color items.

Thanks again for the fast response. I have one more question. The copyright text says ? 2014 All rights reserved.

Can I change to 2015 and how to do that?

That should be an option somewhere under Appearance-Customize, but is not. An oversight on my part. I’ll make sure to add that in the next revision.

In the interim, if you want to change it, you can update [wp-content]/themes/planet-foundation/footer.php with the year and text you want. Open in a text editor and search for 2014 and the modification needed should be obvious. Or if you have made a child theme, copy planet-foundation/footer.php into your child theme directory and make the modification there.

    Thanks Aaron,
Is there a way that I can stop the comma’s showing on the address bar if every field is not filled in? If I don’t want to include one of the address lines such as street name and number I get an extra comma showing. In the same way if I want the company or site name showing in the contact footer the only place to add that is in the title tag line.

This then forces it to show the page title which I do not want to do as its already in the header image I uploaded.

One more question, what is the best size image I should use for the sideshow?

Thanks again for making this theme, I just gave a review.

    Hi Greg,

Thanks for positive feedback and please keep suggestions and issues coming as I would like to improve this theme.

I have uploaded v1.3.6 which allows you to specify the copyright text and handles blank fields in the address much better — no commas between blank address fields. You can also specify an email address now, too, though I think emails are best handled with a form page to cut down on spam. It’ll probably be a day or so before the theme is approved to go live. I’ll let you know when that happens.

I’ll have to figure out a better solution for the title in footer issue in the next revision go around.

Slideshow and header images are best at 1000 pixels wide. Height can be arbitrary though they all should be the same height in the slideshow. If you use the ken-burns effect, your images will need to be greater than 1000×300 to get the scrolling effect to work.

Awesome, thank you for the super fast response!

1.3.6 is now live for download.

I’m having a similar problem with the 2015 theme. No matter what changes I make to the header, it always resets to the same gray as the default background. I’ve tried changing the header color a number of times to a number of different colors. I’ve even tried uploading a header image jpeg at the suggested resolution.
Actually, I’ve just realized none of the changes I’m making to my 2015 site are publishing anywhere other than in my dashboard site preview. I’ve tried viewing in 3 browsers after clearing histories and caches, and none of the changes are taking effect.

What version of the theme are you using? What version of wordpress? What is the main browser you are using?

Is there a link to your site where I can look at it?

Please list exact steps to reproduce the problem you are seeing. For example, what menus are you using from the dashboard.

    Thanks.

Fortunately, today everything seems to be working.

I’m using 2015 v1.0, WP 4.1.1 on a Mac OS 10.10.2. I’m using Firefox and Safari but also viewing in Chrome.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Keith,

Not sure what 2015 v1.0 refers to. The latest version of the Planet Foundation theme is 1.3.6. I would upgrade to this if you are not using it as much has been fixed.

If you experience more issues, please let me know as I would like to improve this theme.

    Thanks,

    Aaron
