• As mentioned in a previous support post when moving items and deleting items, some items may stay selected after having moved them and then selected other items, this can cause those previously thought moved and unselected items to be deleted when you select other items for deletion. When brought up in a support ticket, they simply said that that didn’t happen… and that I must have purposely deleted the items. So, apparently the customer isn’t always right. Please bear in mind I’m also a college professor that teaches web design and development, so you know my word must be worthless…

    Hi @jcotton75 ,

First of all, I am sorry again about this issue you have experienced wile using FileBird and I’m glad to finally know now that you have finally figured out the cause of that issue.

So, according to what you said in the previous support thread you created and the mail follow-ups we had, you said:

” while moving images and organizing my media a ton of items were deleted. I read on another forum post that this was supposedly fixed. ”

Obviously, you actually thought and reported FileBird for bug which causes it to automatically delete your files, but we debugged and confirmed to you that your files were actually deleted but FileBird does not have such permission at all and they must have been deleted by you by mistake or something else caused it.

But right now, I see you have done more checks and perhaps confirmed that FileBird did not automatically delete your files like we had also found during debugg, but the files were mistakenly deleted by you while trying to move files with “Bulk select” option.

However, due to lack of proper understanding of how the “Bulk Select” function works, I totally agree with you that anyone could possibly make such a mistake of deleting previously selected files, because after performing actions of Bulk select, you MUST click on “Cancel” before you proceed to doing other things, so please check the part of our documentation that you missed in this regards:

    https://ninjateam.gitbook.io/filebird/librarys-right-section/bulk-select-option

This conclusively clarifies that it was indeed not a bug with the plugin that caused your issue but an unforeseen mistake that anyone could have made.

I hope you might reconsider the low ratings, since you enjoyed using FileBird and what seems to be a bug is also not one but an unforeseen mistake.

    Thank you.

    Kind regards,
    -Bruce-
