“Giving WordPress Its Own Directory” in wordpress3.0

I read Giving WordPress Its Own Directory.
https://wpdocs.sourceforge.jp/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_DirectoryBut I cannot find for wordpress 3.0.
I installed files at
https://example.com/wpmu/I want make site url not
https://example.com/wpmu/abc/
https://example.com/wpmu/def/but
https://example.com/abc/
https://example.com/def/Before I tried when I used WPMU like this;
in cntrol panel I Changes path from “/wpmu/blog1/” to “/blog1/”.
I make new folder for “/blog1/” and copied index.php and .htaccess file.
I chanegd index.php;
“require(‘./wp-blog-header.php’);” to “.wpmu/wp-blog-header.php”
I changed wp-config.php
$base = ‘/wpmu/’;
define(‘DOMAIN_CURRENT_SITE’, ‘example.com’ );
define(‘PATH_CURRENT_SITE’, ‘/wpmu/’ );to
$base = ‘/’;
define(‘DOMAIN_CURRENT_SITE’, ‘example.com’ );
define(‘PATH_CURRENT_SITE’, ‘/’ );By this,I could see each blogs but i find 404 error eah dashborad.
If you know some information please tell me.
