giving duplicate links
-
I’ve been trying to problem solve this for days now and am now turning for help here.
Basically, I used “Post Duplicator” plugin in the midst of putting a lot of posts/resources on my website. But after putting them all up I went to validate my different feeds and the hurdle in the way of validating is url’s within
that are from when I duplicated posts.
For instance, I might have duplicated the post https://www.danieltrainingnetwork.org/flee/ and the duplicate immediately gives it the url name https://www.danieltrainingnetwork.org/flee-2/. However, every time I duplicated I would obviously change the duplicate url link to what I wanted it to be and then published it. However, in the feed the duplicate url still remains within the
tag. So within the
tag it will be the right url to the post but within the
tag it is the url I duplicated off of.
So, within my different feeds there are times where two items have the same duplicate link within the
tag. For instance,
might be with two different items within my feed thus causing the feed to not validate.
Now I have went into the cache file within my cache folder on the server side and made the duplicate guid tags different. It then validates the feed until I do any editing on any of the posts within that feed and walaa, the feed goes back to the way it was before.
My question is: How do I PERMANENTLY change the duplicate links in the guid tags. I know how to temporarily change them in the cache folder of my Host Gator account in order to validate but then it quickly reverts to it’s old self.
PLEASE HELP!
