    Hi,

I have an issue where if I create an manual order from the backend and send payment link to a new client/guest, the payment page does not have any billing fields, not even an email field. The guest has no option to create an account or even provide their email address.

It seems to be a massive oversight, especially since the standard checkout page is already built and already has all the fields for a guest to create an account on checkout.

Is there either a plugin or snippet that can add billing details on this page and essentially mirror the normal checkout page?

When you create a manual order, it’s expected that an admin fills the billing information and subsequently add/create the customer information during the creation of the manual order. Kindly see this documentation.

If you’d like to change that functionality:

This is a fairly complex development topic. I’m going to leave it open for a bit to see if anyone is able to chime in to help you out.

We're lucky to have a great community of open-source developers for WooCommerce, and many of our developers hang out there, as well.

    Hi,

Thanks for the links I will take a look.

I would like to say that this should be standard functionality. Platforms like Shopify offer this out of the box and it reflects how online businesses work in 2022 with many making sales over DMs on social networks. The idea of collecting a customer’s details first and create an account for them before being able to create an order is very outdated and it creates extra steps for both store owners and customers.

I like woocommerce for the flexibility it offers but do feel it is starting to feel outdated in many respects, this is a perfect example of how woocommerce still does things like its the early 2000’s

    Hi @dazman88!

We appreciate your feedback; it helps us to improve.

If you want this to be part of the WooCommerce core plugin, you can share your request on our Ideas Board and add your vote(s) to it. The more popular an idea becomes, the more of a priority it is for our developers to review. You can find the Ideas Board at https://ideas.woocommerce.com/forums/133476-woocommerce.

    Cheers!
