Give breaking Stripe processing in other plugin

  • Hi there,
    It sounds like I am not the only one experiencing difficulties with the new update to Give, so I thought I would mention the plugin it is conflicting with. It has broken my ability to use Stripe as a payment processor for membership registration in my site. I am using Membership Pro Ultimate WP, and if I have Stripe as a payment gateway for membership instead of showing the registration form it displays a “The site is experiencing technical difficulties” error.

    Is this something that will be fixed in the upcoming update?

    We’re about to release a new version (today) that provides TWO ways to use Stripe with our plugin. If you are using another plugin that uses Stripe to accept payments there is a chance that it may include the Stripe SDK (Software Development Kit) which is most likely the case with Membership Pro Ultimate WP, either through composer or manually including it. This is the cause of conflicts with GiveWP because WordPress does not have a dependency management system to prevent conflicts.

    To help resolve conflicts we have included two options to use Stripe alongside these other plugins. The recommended way is Composer, but if that is not working then we recommend Manual Initialization. If both options do not work please let us know.

    We’ve tested the upcoming release with WP Simple Pay, Gravity Forms Stripe integration, EDD Stripe, and more and it’s working well with the default Composer method of including Stripe however we haven’t tested with your members plugin.

    Hi there,
    I have tried both the composer autoloading, and manual initialization options in the update and neither seem to be resolving my issue. This is the case whether or not I have Stripe enable as a gateway in Give. Any thoughts?
