    Hi there,

Thank-you for creating this plugin. Which, on the face of it is going to do all I am after.

However, I have a couple of issues. Both of these might be down to my use of, ‘Cash on Delivery,’ as the payment method – it being a test site.

Firstly, it looks like every time a gift card is bought with this plugin, an administrator on the site needs to login and manually mark the order as completed before the voucher will send. Would that be the case for all types of payment?

Secondly, even after carrying out the above step, the voucher is not emailed. This may be because I have missed something in the set up. I am going to now check.

But, the first option seems to be the biggest hurdle to my deciding this is the right plugin for my customer.

Thanks for your help in advance.

    Regards,

    Mark Syred

By default, we will automatically mark an order as Complete once payment has been received. This is a setting found under Pimwick Plugins -> PW Gift Cards -> Settings.

When choosing “Cash on Delivery”, the payment is not received in the system so you must manually mark the order as Complete. If you choose another payment method where the money is transferred electronically, then the order will be marked complete automatically.

If the order is Complete and it shows the Gift Card number, you can find troubleshooting steps here:

    Hi there,

    This doesn’t fully help.

The store in question sells made to order handbags, which can sometimes take weeks to put together. So, they are not likely to mark an order as completed until the bag is ready for dispatch. If a customer orders a bag and a voucher at the same time, if the order is marked as complete to make sure the voucher will send, it will create the wrong impression: that the bag is also ready.

Is there a way to automatically send out the voucher regardless of the status of the order? In the live scenario, payment will be taken by CC, but as you can no doubt appreciate, the voucher should be sent straight away and, even if payment has been confirmed, the order should in most cases not be automatically marked as complete.

    Regards,

Go to Pimwick Plugins -> PW Gift Cards -> Settings -> Check the box “Send When Order Received”. This will tell the system to generate and email the gift card once the payment has finalized, even before the status is Complete. It won’t change the “Cash on Delivery” payment method since the system can’t know when the payment is received.

Yes, i am having the same issued as well, as i have place the order for a gift card, by right should be email to the person i stated in “To” field. after placing order i mark as completed the order, but the email stated in “To” field never received anything.

    please advise.

    Hi pimwick,

It is a bit early to mark this thread as resolved. The only reason I haven’t responded is that I have been suffering with poor health. In the event of the current global pandemic, it is a little presumptuous to suppose a thread is resolved because you haven’t heard back in barely more than a week.

Hopefully, this reply marks this thread as unresolved again. Please don’t assume it is resolved unless I, the original poster, marks it so.

    Thank you.

    Hi there,

    Unfortunately, my health problems continue.

I have now had time to review your reply and remain dissatisfied so have decided to look elsewhere. There seems to be no way of testing the working of this plugin without spending actual money. There’s no method of creating promotional codes with this plugin. And lastly, even when the order is marked as completed, the email fails to send.

Thank you, however, with your patience. I will now mark this as resolved, but only because it doesn’t seem as this plugin can achieve what I am after.

    With kind regards,

    Mark
