  • Hi Mixtaka.

It is the theme that does image resizing.

BTW, all three images are animated when I open those posts in Firefox and if you want that above-mentioned image not to get resized you’ll need to make it 600x600px like the other two, instead of 700x700px.

you mean all three images are animating this page : teddylist.com/test/ ?? , as i see only one image is playing other two not. if you open third image in new tab you got this link : https://teddylist.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/heat-changing-unicorn-mug-600×600.gif . the gif is already 600x600px on size, but my theme resize it instead of using original version.

What I meant was that when I opened any of those posts:

    https://teddylist.com/p/harry-potter-patronus-3d-lightbox/
    https://teddylist.com/p/harry-potter-lenticular-movement-notebook/

the featured images was shown animated, while when I opened this one:

    https://teddylist.com/p/heat-color-changing-unicorn-mug/

the featured image was animated only on mouse hover.

yes you are right, the featured image is playing only on mouse hover inside post, but i want image playing on archive pages, or this page : https://teddylist.com/test/

That page uses the thumbnail of 384x384px and apparently WordPress “kills” animation while resizing images.

The only thing I could think of right now would be to produce those animated GIFs with needed dimensions yourself and then overwrite those in the /upload/ section that were produced by WordPress, with your own.

    These would be the filenames:

    jvlv_hp_patronus_3d_lightbox-384x384.gif
    Harry-Potter-Lenticular-Movement-Notebook-384x384.gif
    heat-changing-unicorn-mug-384x384.gif

if you open the image in new tab of this page : teddylist.com/test/

    the link will be :

    1- teddylist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/jvlv_hp_patronus_3d_lightbox-600×600.gif
    2- teddylist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Harry-Potter-Lenticular-Movement-Notebook.gif
    3- teddylist.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/heat-changing-unicorn-mug-600×600.gif

there is no 384×384 dimension and i dont understand why second image is not resized ??

Apparently the theme serves thumbnails according to the computer’s/browser’s screen resolution. I was visiting that page from my laptop with 1366x768px screen so I’ve got 384x384px thumbnails while you probably have the higher resolution screen.

Also, the second image is not resized because it is originally 600x600px.

and the third image is also originally 600x600px , but theme resize it to 600x600px that kill animation. when you open third image it show the link

    teddylist.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/heat-changing-unicorn-mug-600×600.gif

and it must show this :

    teddylist.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/heat-changing-unicorn-mug.gif

so how can i prevent theme to resize the image ?? is there any plugin ?

You’ll likely need to change the way the theme was put together for the template in question. Ask the theme author directly for that: https://themeforest.net/item/rehub-directory-multi-vendor-shop-coupon-affiliate-theme/7646339/support

This is exactly the problem I experienced on my website Makassar website creation services of course this is very annoying when I upload images, is there a plugin that I can use to improve this.
