Gibberish Shows up in email

  • Hello,

    I usually write my posts in Microsoft Word, and copy and paste to wordpress and publish.

    I am subscribed to my website so I get firsthand updates when i post online. I noticed that sometimes, the introductory header sentences, or pictures show as gibberish codes, before the body in the notification of new post sent to my subscribers, but the posts appear normal in the website.

    I am going to include a sample of such email:

    What do I do.
    It’s really embarrassing and discouraging for people to receive such mails from your posts, it looks like spam.

  • You should not be copying from Word – as you can see, it adds all kinds of non-compatible code to your site/posts.

    Thanks for the thumbs up, I didn’t know that,
    so what can I do? and what other options can I use for copy and pasting?

    I’m new to WP, previously used Blogger and had no problem with pasting from MS Word.

    A plain text editor that doesn’t add styles is the best option. Some people seem to like Windows Live Writer (if you’re on a PC) if you can’t do formatting in the WP editor. You could also look at a plugin to add to the Visual Editor options – one option:
