Giant, slow, complicated and not user-friendly

  • I am surprised how popular this plugin is.
    It’s not due to advantages, but despite its drawbacks.

    It has 700 PHP files, two times more than the whole wordpress core !
    It works very slow.
    New users should carefully read the documentation to understand how this plugin should work.
    The only good thing is its enough functionality. That is why I put 2 rating instead of 1.

    @progmastery – Have you tried out latest release of NextGEN Gallery? The current version (2.0.71) is having many reports of significant speed improvements.

    Also, is your observation of “very slow” the only basis for your rating? We just want to understand what you are using as a criteria.

    @progmastery – +1 for Cais’s point about the recent performance improvements. The latest releases also dropped almost 25% of the zip file size for the plugin.
