getting white screen when I switch this plugin on

    I was using this WP Mail SMTP and all was well, but about a month ago I had a tonne of things go wrong on the site. I switch this plug in off at the time. Now, everytime I try to switch it back on, I get the white screen and get locked out of my site. Out of frustration, I left it off and uploaded a new plugin to replace this one, however, it appears that I cannot set it up correctly. I would rather go back to using this one, but I have no idea what to do or how to fix. It is currently switched off on my site (I am too scared to turn it on!)

    What you’re describing is definitely odd! Based on your description, it sounds like there is most likely a separate issue going on in your site (likely not related to WP Mail SMTP).

    The best next step is to reach out to your hosting provider and ask them to investigate this for you.

    If you feel comfortable doing a bit of troubleshooting on your own, you could try setting up error logs (you can find instructions here). However, this would require triggering the issue again — which is why I’d recommend having your host involved (since they may be able to find details that might not get included in an error log).
