Getting thumbnails & excerpts to show up in Facebook…

…much like in the manner of the New York Times. (nytimes.com)

I’m using the sharethis widget, and when others link to posts on my site the thumbnail images and excerpts from my posts don’t appear on their facebook page, only the URL.

Does anyone know of a plugin or hack that will allow a post thumbnail and excerpt to appear in facebook links?

Any help is appreciated.
