• On a client site I’m getting hundreds of lock out alerts a day: Up to over 6k this week.
“too many attempts to access a file that does not exist”.

Even though I have it set to block IP addresses after 1 bad attempt, many of the notifications are about the same IP address over and over again.

Who or whatever is targeting the site uses the same IP address 3-10 times, sometimes within a minute, and then changes it.

My first question is what could be doing this? Is it a bot?

Also, why isn’t the IP block actually blocking the IP addresses that are already blacklisted?

Been using the plug in for years across various sites and have never seen this level of continuous notifications.
Any help with this would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Can’t believe there’s never been a response to this nor the dozens of other people who have reported the same thing.

I’m literally getting THOUSANDS of lock out alerts a week. How is it possible for the same IP address to keep triggering the same warning even when it’s set to automatically block that IP address and it has been blacklisted?

Why has no one from iThemes ever answered this question for anyone?
