    Hello,
    I turned on your plugin last year and haven’t checked really if was working properly until today. The last free membership member was issued on 11/14/2021. I had new members with free membership everyday up to that day.

    I’d created a new membership for free trial and I got this message:
    “Your payment was accepted, but there was en error setting up your account. Please contact us”

    No user have contacted us, that is why I didn’t know about this issue. Please any help will be well received. Thank you.

    I forgot this: I deactivated all other plugins , tried and still the same issue.

    I’m really sorry to hear about this issue you are facing.

    I’ve had a look at your site and noticed that Paid Memberships Pro isn’t installed. Can you tell me what gateway you were using so I may investigate this further?

    Gateway: PayPal.
    Like I said the issue is with the free subscription also.

    Thank you for the feedback, this error message indicates that there could be another plugin or custom code interfering with the WordPress user creation process.

    Could you please link me to your Paid Memberships Pro checkout/signup page so I can take a look at this for you? One test you can try is to set your payment gateway to “Testing” or “Check” payments and test your checkout process again. This will help rule out if it’s an issue with the gateway or some interference from your site.

    Thanks for doing this @sapirocco, does this issue persist with a specific gateway or are there issues with all checkouts?

    This sounds like something is interfering with your checkout and is site specific as I haven’t been able to replicate this.

    Please can you test checkout with only Paid Memberships Pro installed, and a default theme like TwentyTwenty and see if your issue persists. You may reactivate your other plugins one at a time and test checkout each time – the last activated plugin when the issue returns, is interfering with your checkout page.
