All right, so I’ve seen this issue repeat itself regardless of whether I create a custom post type or a category page, so I’m going to ask here how to best handle this.

I created a podcast using the Blubrry plugin. It looks great on individual pages. Thing is, on category pages, one can see the entire URL without any type of player integration. Obviously I want the player to take over, so how would I force the category page to default to the player and not display where the mp3 is hosted?

Please post a link to a page on your website where the player isn’t displaying as you’d like. This may help us to determine what’s going on.

Sure, it’s a temporary environment, but I’ve done it many times and it’s the same everywhere – maybe it’s the theme? [redacted]

That behavior is typically caused by the WordPress theme. There’s a couple things you can try that might be able to fix it:
1.) Log in to your WordPress site
2.) Go to PowerPress >> Settings, Advanced Mode >> Website tab
3.) Check the box next to Display Player/Links: WordPress Excerpts
4.) Click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page
5.) Clear any site caches, if applicable

If that doesn’t fix the display issue, you can also try this:
1.) Go to PowerPress >> Settings, Advanced Mode >> Website tab
2.) Scroll down to the Having Issues? dropdown menu
3.) Choose the first selection in the menu and click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page
4.) If the player still isn’t displaying correctly, try the next option in the dropdown menu and save the changes again, cycling thru each option until you find one that gets the player to display properly

Excellent! Glad to see that worked for you.

If you’ve found the support we’ve provided here to be of value, please consider leaving a review for PowerPress.

These reviews help us with future development of the plugin, and we’d really appreciate it
