• Hello, crew,
I am using WordPress on a daily basis and I am uploading tons of posts and texts.
Before Gutenberg I used to fasten my work by using some keyboard shortcuts, e.g. Shift+Alt+1 for H1, Shift+Alt+2 for H2, Shift+Alt+3 for H3 and etc.
Please, please, give us back this feature. It is really important for me, because with carpal tunnel syndrome it kills me to click even more in Gutenberg.

  • I assume you are using the Classic Editor.
This fix went in last week (for the 5.2 release). Not sure if it’s just the tooltips or the actual shortcuts.

    For Gutenberg, there is https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/3218
You can search the issues for one that sounds like your problem and comment there. Or open a new issue.

I am using Gutenberg, only the screenshot is from other website with the old editor to show you what I mean. I will check the thread, but I am afraid you didn’t understand me. I don’t know how to make it more clear than that.

I am afraid you didn’t understand me.

Here’s what I got: You want the same keyboard shortcuts that you used to have. The new editor has different ones and for different things. That GitHub issue is for customizing keyboard shortcuts, and if the code isn’t merged yet, they are still working on it. If that issue doesn’t exactly cover what you are wanting, you need to write a new issue, so that the developers can see the problem and write some code. If you don’t ask, it doesn’t get done.

Also, you can install the Classic Editor plugin if you prefer those keyboard shortcuts while they are fixing the new editor.
