I have a question, and I’m not sure if this can be done or not..but we will see. I understand how to create a static home page and have your blog listed on a different page. However, this has one shortfall that drives me nuts: the new added static home page acts like any regular page and thus falls under the page.php file, while the newly created blog page acts like the main index page and falls under the index.php file. This annoys the fool out of me because it messes up meta tags, ads and all other sorts of things I have differentiated between my main index page and my other pages. Is there any way I can get my new static home page to work under the assumption that it is the main index page (index.php) and have my blog page work under the assumption that it is just a regular page (page.php)? If this is a possibility, please let me know!

It would help tremendously with SEO efforts for my website!
