Getting started with wordpress as a CMS

I’m new to wordpress, and I have spent the last few days reading books on how wordpress works etc. Are there any good tutorials or books I can read on getting started with wordpress as a CMS? I’ve done a lot of research and so far I get the basics. However I’m not really sure how the content of a page template is getting into the editor in the admin panel and then back into wordpress. I understand how to create static pages and how to link the pages together and how a theme puts a number of php files together like a puzzle. Sorry if I’m not being clear enough but as I said I’m just getting started. Essentially my goal is to build a website that any client can use the admin panel to change the content of a page without any knowledge of CSS or HTML.
