• Where can I find a clear description of how to get data into the directory? I see from phpMyAdmin that a number of tables are created in the WordPress database to contain the directory, and the installer knows how to populate these tables, but nowhere do I see how to add or edit this information.

Surely, the basic plugin is useless without this capacity.

Since others are submitting downstream issues, there must be a way. Can somebody point out what I’ve missed?

    Hi Mike,

you can add new entries from both the back end (wordpress add/edit post of our custom post type : Places)

The front end form : yoursite.com/add-listing/?listing_type=gd_place

You can enable it via GeoDirectory >> Listings >> Navigation

    1) You will need to enable “Places” for : “Allow post type to add from frontend”

    2) Than select your main menu in “Show geodirectory navigation in selected menu locations”. Menu must be created in advance in Appearance >> menu.

    3) Last, select Places in “Show add listing link in add listing navigation”.

This will enable the form and a link to it in your main navigation.

Another option to enter data is via CSV file upload. You can download the sample file for it in GeoDirectory >> CSV Upload.

Documentation for basic install and CSV upload can be found here:

    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/basic-installation/
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/csv-upload/

We are currently writing better docs.

    Thx
