getting started

Hi –
I am just starting with this theme and encountering some issues. My site is not yet published, so if these are related to that, let me know, but at this point, I am debating changing themes.
1. When I preview my site, the default/original picture comes up, even though I have uploaded a new one. It is showing under “suggested”
2. Why is the header/page name showing twice? Once over the head picture and once in the upper left corner? I do not see a place to modify this.
3. I partially picked this theme because I liked the boxes at the bottom of the header pictures. What is the feature I use to build those out?
