Getting rid of trash pages, kind /feed/
-
I would like to thank the Yoast team for a wonderful plugin and suggest improving it for some users, without prejudice to others, in other words – to make the plugin even better.
As you know, some users are faced with a problem. In GSC reports, a warning is displayed that the url is of the form:
https://domain.com/…/feed/
https://domain.com/tag/…/feed/
Indexed despite being blocked by robots.txt.
Almost 3 years ago this was not the case. Your plugin successfully added a meta tag and these garbage pages for many were not indexed by Google, but then you went to meet those who care about rss indexing (and this is a good thing, I admit it), and some users faced a new problem for themselves.
I understand that you can solve the problem yourself using X-Robots-Tag, but why not just make a switch in the Yoast SEO plugin: on / off. How for all settings?
First, you would solve the problems of ALL users.
Secondly, it is logical: if we use the best SEO plugin, then it would be logical to see the best techniques in absolutely all urgent tasks, and setting the feed indexing is one of them.
