• I’m new to WordPress and had a question.

I’m trying to make a VERY basic site and I don’t know how to get rid of all the extra information on the side bar. I’m trying to get rid of all the stuff listed like, “Pages”, “Categories”, “Archives” and “Meta”.

Since my site is needing to be very minimalist, these don’t really serve a purpose. Any assistance that you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

awwww. Nobody can help me out with this? ??

The answer can be one of many depending on what theme you use, the themes default sidebar items, and what you plan to do with the empty space once the items are removed. In fact, it’s entirely possible that your theme may already have a “full” page template option that does not include a side bar, available for use. Many themes do. In fact, the default Twenty Eleven theme offers this feature.

Apperance > Theme Options > select “One column, no sidebar”, and save the changes.

I suspect the main reason you got no response was because you never mentioned what theme you were trying to modify, and didn’t post a link to the site so others could take a look at it.

Thanks! Yeah, the reason I didn’t mention what theme is mainly because I didn’t know if it was a general setting that I was just missing somewhere. I’ll give that solution a try. Thanks again! /hug
