Getting Rid of Noindex code on Home Page

    How do I get rid of the code
    meta name=”robots” content=”noindex,nofollow”
    on my home page, mchumor.com?

    It’s not on any other pages. Just my home page.

    I’m using a Woocommerce Store Front Theme.

    I was excited when I saw someone else with a similar issue found the problem was caused by an archive page being noindexed. Alas, I couldn’t find archive pages on my site (i.e., they may be there, but I don’t know where) and I havn’t seen any place to index them.

    I also read that sometimes the noindex,nofollow code is in the header.php, but I don’t see any such code in mine.

    I also read that one solution is to go to Admin -> Options -> Privacy and Check the appropriate button. Alas, I can’t find a options-privacy.php page.

    I have NOT checked the box on the options-reading.php page that says, “Discourage search engines from indexing this site”

    In Yoast SEO I have NOT checked that I don’t want my pages index. I hate double negatives, but I’m assuming this means that the pages should be indexed.

    In Relevanssi I HAVE checked that I do want my pages indexed.

    I just can’t figure out where the noindex code is coming from.

    The reason this is a big problem for me is that the noindex no follow on the home page prevents me from using my XML Standalone Sitemap Generator.

    The reason I need that in addition to the Yoast Sitemaps is because the bulk of my site (over 2,000 pages developed over the last 15 years) is not in WordPress, but HTML.

    The reason the homepage is in WordPress and not HTML is that I sell downloadable products (cartoons). If the home page is in HTML, people can’t download stuff.

    If you deactivate all of your plugins, you can usually tell whether it’s coming from your theme or a plugin and which.

    Thanks. I deactivated all the plugins and the code went away. I then reactivated them one by one, and the code never came back. Go figure. The cyber-Gods are indeed inscrutable.
