Getting rates before package change

Yesterday, I installed the plugin and now I can’t get rid of the message, “Your shipping settings and label history…” I click the ‘X’ to clear the message, but it keeps coming back on every screen.

The notice is dismissed via an ajax request. Can you please use your browser inspector, go to the network tab and then with it open click the X again. It should show a call to admin-ajax.php . If possible screenshot us the Payload and Response tabs of that request so we can investigate why it is not dismissing for you.

When preparing to create a label, the rates are being retrieved for the previous package selection. Since I have to frequently change the package and/or weight, I have to wait for the plugin to finish retrieving the rates before I can make the change. Are you aware that you’re getting the rates before I’ve selected the package?

This is a feature to speed up label creation, if you do not want this you can disable the Remember last package selection setting under WooCommerce -> Settings -> Shipping -> WooCommerce Shipping.

Finally, one other issue is that the address validation at checkout doesn’t work. I entered two valid addresses, including my home address, and an error message is displayed. You can try the following address: 3136 West Border Links, Visalia, CA 93291.

I can confirm there seems to be a bug with checkout address validation, we will prioritise a fix. In the mean time there is also auto address validation when creating the label which should cover the address validation for now.

I want to ensure there is nothing else causing the issue.

Select Get system report and then Copy for support.

Hi @harleec, just letting you know we release 1.3.1 earlier today that addresses the address validation at checkout issue.

As for the fetching of rates when changing the package, this is a regression in our UI as part of trying to streamline the label purchase process, we will look into improving this flow, however for now there is no immediate fix. What you can try is ensuring all your products have correct dimensions and weights defined, these would then pull through to the label purchase and the weight calculations should not need changing.

Regarding the notice, I cannot make out if the screenshot is for the notice, but if you have access to wp cli you can run wp option update wcshipping_migration_completed_shown true or go to wp-admin/options.php on your site and find wcshipping_migration_completed_shown and enter a 1 in the input and click the update botton to make it disappear.

Hi @kloon , I’ll install the updated 1.3.1 and test again. As for the fetching of rates, it’s not a simple as ensuring the products have the correct weights. Most of the time, the customer is ordering more than one product, which affects whether we package into a bubble envelope, a box, or a USPS Priority mail option. I hope the workflow can be improved to avoid advance rate fetching until both package and weight is updated. I understand that I can disable remembering of the package, but then it causes even more overhead.

We are working on improvements to the advance rate fetching flow, so we appreciate your feedback.
Regarding the issue you noticed in the Query Monitor scripts section about the missing dependencies, are you still seeing that after updating to version 1.3.1?
As for the 400 error, try going to the WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > WooCommerce Shipping page, clicking the “Edit” link for your Origin Address at the bottom of that page, make sure all the required fields have been filled out, and re-save/re-validate. After doing that, let us know if you continue to see that 400 error.

Thanks for the update. I look forward to the next release for workflow improvement. As for the other issues, I still see the missing dependencies after updating to 1.3.1. Also, I confirmed the “400 Bad Request” still occurs although the origin address is verified. Can you try temporarily deactivating any security plugins (like MalCare, for example) and see if that helps with the 400 error?

Regarding the missing dependencies, can you try deactivating and deleting the WooCommerce Shipping extension and then re-installing a fresh copy of the plugin (which you can download from the main page here on www.remarpro.com).

Hi @shaunkuschel . I deactivated the “BOT Protection” plugin from MalCare Security, but the 400 error still appears. My other website is experiencing the same 400 error, and that one doesn’t currently have any security plugins installed. As for the missing dependencies, I deactivated and deleted the plugin. After reinstalling, I’m still see the same error. Does the ‘delete plugin’ leave residual data that’s not getting reset during the reinstall?

Greetings. I found the “Newsletter, SMTP, Email marketing and Subscribe forms by Brevo” plugin is causing the “Missing Dependencies” issue. When I deactivate the Brevo plugin, the Woocommerce Shipping plugin is correctly shown in the Footer position. I’m creating a support ticket for Brevo to investigate the issue. Any other suggestions?
