• I was running 0.19.1 and it was all working fine.

After upgrading to 0.20.0 we get the dreaded error:
“Post-processing of the image failed likely because the server is busy or does not have enough resources. Uploading a smaller images may help. Suggested maximum size is 2500 pixels.”

Running the most recent version of WP and PHP 7.4. I reverted to 0.19.1 and resaved the settings and everything started working again.

I don’t yet know if this is consistent but I was wondering if you or anyone else has seen this and if there’s a known fix.

    Thank you.

Could it perhaps be the “Convert on upload” feature? It drains a lot of resources upon upload, especially if there are many thumbnails. Was the “Convert on upload” feature ON or OFF?

I just checked and yes, it was on.
I’ve turned it off to see how that goes but I guess my question is if that process changed any in 0.20.0.
The option has always been on and it wasn’t a problem. Well, not that we’re aware of anyway. LOL!

I do not suspect any of the changes in 0.20.0 to cause such thing. The only thing I can think of is if a converter for some reason eats up more memory in the new release. The new release updated webp-convert to 2.6.0. And that release have several improvements made on the converters. Mostly, they support more options, and that should not affect anything. Also, they now use the “sharp_yuv”, which does drain slightly more system resources. cwebp uses new 1.2.0 binaries. It could be that this release uses more system resources.

Which conversion method are you using?
