    Hi,

    I’m a bit confused. Since xanga switched over to wordpress, its been annoying because a lot of features that I typically use with wordpress are not present. It is very bare bones. I see no section in my menu that allows me to import plugins. I cannot even bring in a theme at this point. So I’m stuck with this because I’m not that clear on what they’ve done here.
    My other wordpress sites are my own – downloaded, and domain purchased. But I’m confused as to what xanga has done here, because it looks like I’m on wordpress’s platform, like how my one blog is @wordpress.com, but I’m not at wordpress, and this has a lot less features than that has. At least on their system, I can get themes, and some pluggins. I also cannot see my site’s activity and the number of hits anymore.

    Can anyone help me figure this out? Thanks.

  • What is the site URL in question?

    You will need to contact the admins of Xanga about this. we have no connection to that site here, so we cannot really help you.

    In that site, the help section brings me here. There is nothing else that I can see to contact them about this, but thank you for your input.

    If your site was moved to WordPress, perhaps you are using the wrong URL? BTW, are you sure your site isn’t on WordPress.COM? You CAN use your own domain name there. From your description, it sounds that way.

    My blog was originally on xanga.com. They have upgraded their site, and used a wordpress platform without all of the benefits or pluggins/themes etc;

    I just finally found the xanga team blog and made a comment to that effect – about how backwards this all is. I have wordpress blogs, so I have an idea of what I can do with them. This is a blog I had long before I got into wordpress, and since I have a following there, and so many articles, I didn’t want to move everything, but it seems that eventually, I may have to do that, because this situation with them limiting and restricting everything is not working. Thanks for the input.
