    Hi
I’ve been knocking my head against ASE, which is my usual way of figuring out a plug-in or software, but this time I’m not making much progress.

I want the text below a parallax image to scroll up and over it. But, haven’t been able to figure out how to make that work.

I’m quite excited about the potential I have to combine words and images with ASE, and appreciative of the work ya’ll have done.

If you could take at look at:
    https://www.kirkwoodacupuncture.com/story-science/
and give me an idea on what I need to do to get the text under the images to scroll up over the image, I’d appreciate it.

Also, some simple youtube videos for noobs like me would be really helpful.

    thanks!

    Hey @chinamax,

First, I just wanted to verify that you have enabled theme support with Woo. https://www.woothemes.com/2015/01/write-stories-instead-of-code-five-steps-to-storytelling-with-canvas/

You can download a plugin to do what is described in the article to bridge ASE and Canvas: https://github.com/AesopInteractive/aesop-woo

After we get this situated let’s move to the next steps.

    Hi Michael,

I had originally installed code snippets and put in some code to enable ASE on Canvas, but it was not the same as the directions that you gave me above.

This is what I had put in:
    add_theme_support(“aesop-component-styles”, array(“parallax”, “image”, “quote”, “gallery”, “content”, “video”, “audio”, “collection”, “chapter”, “document”, “character”, “map”, “timeline”) );

I’ve left that in. And followed the directions you gave me above. The parallax is looking more….well…parallaxy. But, I still can not get text to ride up over it like a wave breaking on the beach.

    What next?
    Thanks
    Michael

    Hi,

since I have a similar question I will aks it here: I would like a parallax effect like the images in this (Aesop based) post: https://countingthedead.com/2014/08/23/counting-the-dead/
(like the image of the tree)

I don’t know how to achieve that with the parallax component of the plugin. Okay, smth is moving and looks “parallaxish” but it’s not this clean effect that I would like to achieve.

Here is a link to my test post: https://siehdiewelt.com/testbeitrag/
There are two parallax components (the colored images of Stonehenge). And they kind of move parallaxish. But not really. How can I get it wo work like in the counting-the-death-post?

    Thanks
    Markus

It looks like you’re missing some of the styles that were in the WooThemes tutorial for Aesop. As you can see the width of your site is still the default WooThemes width.

If you’re using Canvas, the best thing to do is to download a plugin to do what is described in the article to bridge ASE and Canvas as Michael above suggested

    https://github.com/AesopInteractive/aesop-woo

After installing and activating this you should be set.

    Gentlemen,
I think I’ve got everything installed at this point so I can use Canvas with ASE.

The images have a parallax look. But I still can’t get text to scroll up over the images.
    What am I missing here?

    Thanks
    Michael

The images in the Counting Dead site are from the Aesop Stacked Parallax gallery, not the parallax component. I think that’s where the confusion lies here.

    (@chinamax)

So then, how do set up the Aesop Stacked Parallax gallery?

There’s documentation within the “Help” tab in the Galleries, as well as online documentation here: https://aesopstoryengine.com/help/

Going to close this out, let us know if you need anything else.
