  • Pardon? What messages? Where?

I get messages refering to “articles” which I don’t post and “blogs” which I don’t have. I just replied to 14 messages that I think I’m getting messages meant for other people and to please describe what they are refering to. When I have replied in the past no one answered. and when I have tried in the past to email the email address on their message they are bogus.
I am new to this. The person who set it up for me Just said spam them all and took off the email notification, which really does not seem like a solution to me.

They sound very like spam comments to me. Have you activated the Akismet plugin?

I had akismet. But then it went away. The explaination I received was that I had to pay for it now.
If I change my Privacy from ‘Search Engines” to “normal visitors” will that help rid me of these unwanted comments?
    Thanks for your help.

askimet is free – there is no charge for it. Add it to your plugins and most of the spam will go away.

Apparently since I advertize a service I now have to pay for akismet.

Funny. Your message on my email asked for my URL, whereas here it does not. It is dagroenert.com………….I do House Portraits.

Yes, I figured out the url and edited the post.

I wouldn’t encourage not paying but I suppose many do. $5 per month is not bad though, https://akismet.com/signup/. The price of one latte!

    Yes, that is reasonable.
What would changing the privacy setting from “search engines” to “normal visitors” do for me? I doubt if anyone could find me thru googling House Portraits as there are thosands there.

It would certainly make some difference.
