• Hello,

Trying to create a local copy of a live website to run some tests. But every time I try to visit “localhost/siteurl” it only gives me a download option. I’m using WAMP and few other websites working just fine so I believe there is nothing wrong with WAMP. After some digging, it seems like some configuration change by WP Super Cache plugin may be the reason. But not sure how can I alter them. Any suggestion please?

  • Presumably you can view the “readme.html” file for this site ? This test that your hosting configuration is at least reasonable.

Next disable your plugins, especially and first your “wp super cache”, it could easily be getting confused by the hosting change, especially if you imported the database settings.

If this does not help then disable all the plugins.
The easiest way to disable plugins in a localhosted site is to rename their directory in “wp-content/plugins”.
