getting news page title

Hi is there a quick function like the_title(); that pulls the news page title to be used anywhere on the site? I don’t want news item titles but the news page title. I use a static page for my home page so I have selected a page to display my news items which is called “My Blog Pages” and it works fine. When you click on a news item you get taken to that page which is great and displaying the news item title correctly, however above that I still want it to say “My Blog Pages”. I don’t want to hard code it in to the “single” template as that would be too easy.

Any ideas??
