As soon as I updated this plugin. I started getting following message as warning
” Warning: call_user_func_array() expects parameter 1 to be a valid callback, function ‘wds_bp_registration_options_bp_before_member_header’ not found or invalid function name in /home/mywebsite/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 403 ”

Please tell me how to fix this ???

@dmjarvis… great it worked .. now profile page looks good…
hopefully it will not harm other functions.. isn’t it ??

yeah a proper fix by the plugin developers would be best.:)

@dmjarvis My friend Becs has also done as you advised and it worked for my website. Thanks again.

Thanks for your detailed instructions, @dmjarvis

    Same problem:

Warning: call_user_func_array() [function.call-user-func-array]: First argument is expected to be a valid callback, ‘wds_bp_registration_options_bp_before_member_header’ was given in /home/builders/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 403

Thanks dmjarvis for the temporary fix until the developer can let us know what the proper fix is.

Posted a new version of the plugin on GitHub:
    https://github.com/jibbius/bp-registration-options-wp3.5

Hopefully when the developer comes online again, he’ll use it to formally update the plugin. For now, anyone that wants to can download for their own use.

jibbius your version seems to work fine…

That’s awesome. Thank you jibbius, you made it! Where to donate?

How will I know whether there are further updates?

Dear BuddyPress developers, could you please make the admin approval of new registrations a core option?

No worries mathiaspriebe, and no donations are necessary ??

For now, I don’t want to take full ownership of the plugin (the original developer may return)… but I am making some tweaks that I think are useful. If you’d like to receive notifications of these, sign up to GitHub, and click “watch” on my code. You’ll get an email if I introduce a new feature, and you can decide if it’s useful to you.

This will be my approach for now. If the original plugin developer remains offline, then I’ll look at making my “version” more official.

I am currently working on an enhancement, so that unauthorised users can be assigned to a different user role within WordPress. This will allow for more flexibility in choosing what unauthorised vs. authorised users can do.

Thank you. This seems to be working for me.

Yes, people behind the plugin will return. I need to get commit access still but I have already browsed the entire support forum for this plugin and noted down all of the issues listed and patches and whatnot. I was not around for the original releases of it, so I won’t be a pro at answering the support questions around it right away, but hopefully I’ll get familiar with it quickly. We’re not letting it die yet, it just got neglected longer than we wish due to other work taking priority.

jibbius, I am aware of your github repo copy and I’ll likely be diff’ing to what we originally have and seeing what changes you made to see if we want to revise/improve those or accept as-is. The moment anything from your copy gets pulled into ours, you’re getting credit for helping. I know you’ve done a lot around this subforum to help others. WebDevStudios appreciates it.

    That’s great news Michael!

I actually didn’t end up finishing that unapproved/approved roles enhancement (I know all about other work taking priority ?? ) but the repo is definitely in working order.

    Anyhow, glad to help.
The wp community has certainly done that for me already.

    Cheers,

Good to hear that! Thank you Michael and jibbius for taking care of the plugin. It should be core for BuddyPress.

We’re getting up to 30 spam registrations every day with a relatively small site and really appreciate the opportunity to let them in and ban them further on.

What I’d have on my wishlist is another option. Is it possible to hide profiles as long as they aren’t approved? Most of those idiots just try to leave backlinks and they should not get the opportunity, not even for a few hours.

Thank you and please keep us posted.

Sorry for the long month. Finally found time to get going on this. As of the 4.0.1 release, much of jibbius’ contributions were pulled in and/or merged. He is also listed in the credits.

That said, I’m still going through the other issues presented and doing what I can to get them resolved. Please start new threads for any that come in, as I’m going to mark this one resolved.
