I struggled to figure out how best to categorize this question. Our site is supportgroupsgalore.com. If I put “support groups galore” into google or yahoo, my site comes up nicely on the search; but if I put in “support groups” it doesn’t appear anywhere. Even if I put in “support groups” and enter one of the forums, like “anger management,” we don’t come up anywhere.
Any ideas about what I’m doing wrong, if anything? Maybe this is just the way it is with new sites.
Any help or guidance would be appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Bobby Stanton

Try registering at Google WebMaster Tools and having Google crawl a well-set robots.txt file:

Okay, Leejosepho, I will later today and post results.

@bobby, keep in mind that even if you do that, you won’t see immediate results. Additionally, even in time, you still might not see the results you’re hoping for since there are many sites competing for those keywords.

What you really need to do is perform some SEO research. There are many resources available for you online to learn more. Unfortunately, it’s outside the scope of these forums.

    Hi, Gabe!
    Thanks for the feedback.
Yes, I sorta get that I’m pretty much at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to search engine keywords. And I did run the Google Webmaster Tools on the site and everything comes up with no errors; so I guess I’m as good as I’m gonna get right now.
    thank you Gabe and Leejosepho.
    Bobby
