Getting My WordPress blog working

  • Hi, thank you for any help in advance. My site should be viewed on https://www.itsawinner.co.uk however my construction page shows still. I view the blog on https://www.itsawinner.co.uk/index.php

    1. Firstly, how do I get rid of the META things down the sides and change what gets put in these boxes?
    2. If you click on comments you go straight to itsawinner construction page, how do I get it to go to the right place?
    3. how do i get my index.php page as my default homepage and then all the other links to work to comments etc.

    All I really want to do is to get the php page as the homepage and edit the side boxes. And for the links to work to comments and other stuff like categories, most links are going straight to index.html

  • For starters, remove the index.html. You should only have the index.php there.

    Apache looks for the Index page by giving .HTML a higher preference than .PHP.

    For the META things, go into /wp-content/themes/default/sidebar.php and modify it to your heart’s content.
