getting loop to work on your own page?

    I understand how I can add a mini-loop (where only a link to the posts is shown) to my front page, but how can I put an actual loop (which will show the content of the posts and everything) on my website? This is a website that already has it’s own layout- header, footer, sidebar and all, so all I need from wordpress is the actual blog function.

    Help, please?
