Getting logged out / locked out WHILE I'm working.

    Gotta tell ya, folks. This never happened when it was called Better WP Security?

    I’m working along in my blog and suddenly, I’m getting hit with a login screen. What?? And after doing that like twice, I’m getting logged out for too many bad password attempts. This, despite the fact that every time I log in, I log in correctly.

    What gives??

  • Hey Tom,

    It sounds like you’re under a Brute Force attack, possibly using your user name. If you’d like, you can add a new admin user, transfer content and then delete the other one.

    The weird thing about this is: this is not only not an account called “admin,” but in fact, is not an administrative account. It’s the limited account I use to post articles.

    It is named after the domain name of the site. I guess I shall have to create a new account like you said and transfer articles over.
