Getting excerpts to work with Pods

Excerpts should work fine… See Edit Pod > Advanced Options > Supports > Excerpt (checkbox).

Sorry I should have been more specific. I’m looking to allow the content to automatically be used as excerpt.

To do it automatically, if in the loop, based on the StackExchange, and filter in the_excerpt() would be something like:

add_filter( 'the_excerpt', function(){
    return wp_trim_excerpt();
});

That’s my best untested guess. May also have something to do with the other plugin —?I thought excerpts got the_content by default.

Isn’t part of the issue that the Pods text fields are not counted as part of “the content”?

the_content filters only run on the_content(), not text fields, so yes, that may be the issue.
