getting error since update

Is there any detritus left behind in my WP installation if I simply delete the plugin folder? If so, is it easy to remove?

I have no access to my host (long story). Is there a way for me to rectify this issue since I can’t access my dashboard?

@8bar, the problem was caused by one of the files. So if you remove them, no detritus is left. Only your normal settings will remain.

@motorcop, you’ll have to remove the files from your server to be able to access the admin again. I’m afraid there is no other way. Sorry ??

Removing the files from the server via FTP indeed appears to resolve the problem of accessing the admin panel.

Although I watched the directory and all it’s contents disappear from the remote site pane (FileZilla FTP), this morning I revisited the server directory via FTP and discovered the files were still present! I have no idea why or how. All files in the development site are also in the production site so it doesn’t appear I removed anything by mistake.

Either way, I will chalk it up to operator error.

I was updating the plugin and am now unable to access my dashboard at all or log in to wordpress. I’m hosting with Godaddy and of course, they couldn’t help or tell me anything except to tell me to go to www.remarpro.com. They have gotten SO bad, but that’s another story.

Here is the fatal error I’m getting and I have NO idea how to proceed since I can’t log in anymore.

1. this was a free plugin, not a premium one.
2. now they want money and will go in and install it (YOU CANT LOG INTO THE SITE ANYMORE so unless they plan on hacking it, wtf good would this do?)
3. Don’t you hate it when people like this put you in a bind with their bad product and then want to UP-SELL you? THIS IS NOT AN UP-SELL SITUATION DUDE. IT IS A “THE HOUSE IS ON FIRE AND YOU NEED TO PUT IT OUT SITUATION.”

The method doing_action() was introduced in WordPress 3.9.0. If you are using an older version of WordPress, I’d advise you to:
– remove the google analytics plugin from your WordPress install via FTP (this should enable you to get back into the admin panel)
– backup the WordPress database and files (in case something goes wrong with upgrading)
– upgrade WordPress to the latest version (please check if the server your website is on has the minimum requirements for this version)
– reinstall the plugin
Hopefully this helps.

@TacoVerde: you might want to update the ‘Requires 3.8 or higher’ that’s mentioned for this plugin, as it seems at least 3.9 is now needed.
