• Hi team,
    I have installed wordpress manually at Godaddy, Windows hosting and just after installing a plugin “wpsite-follow-us-badges”, i am getting this error.

    Any one can help on this please.

    PHP Warning: is_readable(): open_basedir restriction in effect. File(G:\PleskVhosts\sqlrelease.com\httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/G:\PleskVhosts\sqlrelease.com\httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/wpsite-follow-us-badges/languages/wpsite-follow-us-badges-en_US.mo) is not within the allowed path(s): (G:/PleskVhosts//sqlrelease.com\;C:\Windows\Temp\) in G:\PleskVhosts\sqlrelease.com\httpdocs\wp-includes\l10n.php on line 476

  • It would seem that the server configuration has some setting for permitted file paths, and that this plugin does not match the required pattern. So look for settings in the Plesk control panel, most likely in the context of PHP server.

    What does Godaddy support say ?

    Google on:
    “not within the allowed path(s)” plesk
    It came up with some similar examples with solutions.

    May I observe that nearly everyone uses WordPress under cPanel hosting on Linux. I would suggest that life is simpler this way. I would further suggest that you consider changing, just how many little learning experiences like this does one need.

    Hi Ross,
    You are right!
    It was a setting at Godaddy server. I am sharing so that others can use this to make their life simple.

    Open MyAccount and on Hosting Setting page and set as below;

    PHP Settings -> Open_BaseDir() -> None

    In PHP Setting, we have an option to set Open_BaseDir. make it as None. Its Default by default.

    Thanks to all.
