    Hi

I have my site is hosted elsewhere, NOT on wordpress.com
I installed Jet-pack, and for most features I get ‘Error 400’
Does jetpack work only when installed on wordpress.com? Is it mandatory to go for paid plans?

    Regards

    Arvind

  • Hi there!

Many of Jetpack’s features are included in the free version – no plan required ??

When I run a diagnostic check of your connection, I’m seeing an error. This is the reason that you’re not able to activate any of those modules.

Would you please try to deactivate and delete Jetpack entirely, and then try to reinstall it?

Let me know how that goes!

    Thanks Tracy,

Uninstalling completely and re-installing / disconnecting jetpack and the website: this is something I have repeated quite a few times but the result is same. At the moment Jetpack has been completely removed from plugins.

Could it have something to do with the hosting service that I have chosen?

Could it be because of user accounts? I even created a separate wordpress.com account for website in question.

    Hey @arvindwp,

There are many factors that can affect the connection with Jetpack and its functionality on your site.

I still can see connection issues on our end when debugging your site with Jetpack, so I’d like to run some more tests with you on your site to try to figure out what’s happening.

Could you contact us via this contact form and mention this thread? This way we’ll be able to deal with aspects and data that can’t be share publicly.

Look forward to your reply, and thanks for working this out with me ??

    It seems an endless matter.

Though the Projects and Testimonials are available now; yet Error 400 keeps showing up. For example, when I post blog links on Twitter / Linkedin etc, the featured image does not show up there which unusually should happen.

I tried to disable Lazy Load to see if that was the issue, — Error 400
I simply tried to change text for Comments from “Leave a Reply” to Share your Opinion” – Error 400.

    ??

    Regards

    Hi Arvind,

I can see that this seemed to be resolved in the email thread that you have with us. If the problem has crept back up, can you email us again there? It’s easier for us to troubleshoot this with you if all of the history for this is in one place.

    Thanks!
