I am self-hosting a WordPress blog running WordPress 6.4.3 and have Jetpack version 13.2. I’ve been having problems and have had to uninstall and re-install Jetpack multiple times, as well as disconnect and reconnect. This seems to have worked (for example, I can access my Jetpack stats from my site). However, when I go to WordPress.com and look at the blog through the interface there, it says that my blog is not connected. Also, if I look at my blog’s Site Health screen. I see the following critical issues:

    Wpcom Connection Test Jetpack

A healthy connection ensures Jetpack essential services are provided to your WordPress site, such as Stats and Site Security.

Error Musings of a Wyrd-Worker is not connected.: 200

    We recommend reconnecting Jetpack.

I tried reconnecting one more time and while I got a message saying the connection was successful, I’m still seeing the warning.

Any recommendations on how to further analyze and/or resolve this issue?

    Thanks,

    Jarred.

    Hi there,

From the details provided, it seems that there is an error related to the Jetpack connection on your site. The error message in the email you received points to a call to an undefined function ctype_digit() which suggests that the ctype PHP extension may not be enabled on your server.

I recommend checking with your hosting provider to ensure that the ctype extension is installed and enabled on your server, as it is a requirement for Jetpack to function properly. This could resolve the connection issue and the error you’re seeing.

Additionally, it’s important to ensure that your site is publicly accessible so that Jetpack can communicate with the WordPress.com servers. Make sure there are no maintenance modes or password protection that might block the connection.

Could you please post your site URL here so that we can have a look? If you want it to remain private, you can also contact us via contact form. If you choose to reach out directly, please include a link to this thread.

    Thank you!
