    Hi:

I am getting a “Author URL is not accessible” error in my Site Health after activating the plugin. I see other users have a similar issue, but since my setup differs from theirs, I figure I’d start a new thread.

My site is hosted on DreamHost through their DreamPress plan. The plan includes a caching plugin and Jetpack Professional. I also have several other plugins active, including a security plugin.

Please help me fix this issue, as I’m not sure if it’s a site compatibility issue or a plugin conflict issue. Thanks!

Then the caching plugin might be the issue. The content negotiation seem to not work:

    ## Request
    curl "https://www.nerdynel.me/author/nerdynel_0g78u4/" \
         -H 'Accept: application/activity+json'

The security plugin seem to also rename the author URL to something cryptic.

    Hi:

    Thanks for the response!

The caching plugin is provided by my hosting, so my options for managing it are limited. Do you know of any potential workarounds?

As for my security plugin, the “cryptic” URL you mentioned might be a result of one of the brute-force attack prevention features; could I send you a quick DM on Mastodon to discuss this further? I could try to tinker with the security plugin settings to see if the issue gets resolved, but I would very much like to keep the security plugin active…
